Irvine - Human Resources Generalist

Position Summary:

In this critical HR role the Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for a range of duties that include: employee relations, HRIS, benefits training and compliance, maintaining performance management systems, interpretation of personnel policies and procedures, and employee relations in accordance with quality management principles and overall objectives of the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Administer various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel; assist in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
  • Participate in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
  • Administer compensation program; monitor performance evaluation program and revise as necessary.
  • Perform benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, and communicating benefit information to employees.
  • Partner with recruitment for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, W9 contractors and temporary employees; write and place advertisements as needed.
  • Partner with the training department to conduct new employee orientation.
  • Handle employee relations counseling and exit interviewing.
  • Participate in administrative staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars to maintain legal compliance.
  • Maintain company organization charts and employee directory as needed.
  • Assist in evaluation of reports, decision, and results of the department in relation to established goals. Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.
  • Maintain Human Resource Information System records and compile reports from database.
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned.
Qualifications:
  • A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of Human Resources experience.
  • Considerable knowledge of HR principles and practices of personnel administration including Federal and State employment law.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates utmost attention to detail.
  • Must be able to operate in a fast paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
